New Investigator Scheme
Call status: Open
Application deadline: as per next responsive mode
Assists early-career researchers – newly employed university lecturers, lecturer level equivalent fellows whose awards were secured in open competition, and researchers in Research Council Institutes at the unified Research Council Band E or its equivalent – to secure their first major element of research funding.
Applicants must not have received competitive research funding from any source, as a Principal Investigator, that included post-doctoral research assistant staff support costs.
Our Committees assess applications against the same criteria as other responsive mode proposals; however, research potential rather than track record will be taken into account.
This scheme operates in responsive mode. Application deadlines are the same as other responsive mode applications.
Information on eligibility is available in our grants guide and eligibility enquires sections (see related links). For queries relating to eligibility please see contact below.
Applications are processed alongside other responsive mode applications. Application deadlines are therefore the same as responsive mode applications. Responsive mode deadlines can be found on our 'Apply for funding' page (see related links above).
