Purpose

The reinforcement and development of a UK research base which is currently quite small, by drawing in researchers from the engineering and physical sciences where there is UK strength.

Key aims

To encourage the growth of the UK stem cell research base by reinforcing current strengths and drawing in researchers from the engineering and physical sciences
To encourage the development of a research base in the technologies associated with the future healthcare application of stem cells
To encourage an increase in the output of multidisciplinary research of high quality in the stem cell area
