Purpose

To develop an active and cohesive cross-disciplinary community at the mathematics/systems biology interface.

Key aims

  • To increase the number of collaborative applications to BBSRC addressing specific challenges in systems biology
  • To encourage the inclusion of branches of mathematics that have not been traditionally associated with biology
  • To encourage systems biological applications at all levels of biological organisation

Outputs

  • All 5 funded networks have commenced their grants
  • Each network has activities planned for the 3 year period, including workshops and summer schools
  • A grant holders workshop was held in 2008
