Digital organism community
September 2012
Within our strategic plan is enabling theme 2 'Exploiting new ways of working' which states:
- The ultimate realisation of predictive biology lies in the development of 'digital organisms' - collections of integrated models underpinned by quantitative data, which together represent key biological systems and processes
To enable this we have a key priority to develop a BBSRC strategy in the field of digital organisms.
Working group
To develop this priority a working group has been established, chaired by Professor Helen Byrne (University of Oxford).
The working group advised that a community consultation be undertaken to gather evidence to inform the digital organisms strategy development process.
A report from the survey will be considered by the working group in September 2012.
Take part in the consultation
The consultation is now closed. It was open to all researchers before 2 September 2012.
